Eva Hemmer
Associate Professor

Eva, by training a materials scientist, grow up and graduated in Germany. She got in touch with lanthanide-based nanomaterials for the first time during her doctoral studies and developed a passion for them. Since then, she combined chemical, physical and biomedical aspects of lanthanide-based nanomaterials as a postdoctoral researcher in Japan (Tokyo University of Science) and Canada (INRS-EMT). In 2016, she joined the Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Sciences at the University of Ottawa, where her research will focus on the design of novel lanthanide-based nanocarriers for applications ranging from bioimaging to solar technologies.
